Cartridge Challenge for Autism

I joined a card challenge on the Cricut messageboard for Autism. The challenge was to make a project using a puzzle piece. I used a puzzle piece from Printing 101 and set up the cut file in Design Studio to get the opening on the front of the card.

I used the puzzle piece that was cut from the front to embellish the inside of the card. The stamps include Penny Black "Bees and Bunny" and SU! "Pocket Silhouettes." The small butterflies are hand punched.

The border on the white piece inside the card was done with a Martha Stewart punch around the page set "Loopy."

I added a bit of Stickles to the bees' wings and to the center of the daisy. "Bees and Bunny" images were colored with Prisma watercolor pencils.

Halloween birthday

My sister's birthday is on Halloween. I made this card for her in 2008. It uses many Cricut cuts: Paper Doll Dress ups - black cats, fence & bats; Pooh & Friends - pumpkins, grass, & moon; the trees are also Cricut, but I can't remember from which cartridge. I also ran the fence thru my Cuttlebug to give it some texture.

Welcome Baby card

This card was made ages ago, before I bought my Cricut. The sheep is a Sizzix die--super cute. The camera flash washed the sheep out a bit. The color blocks were cut with the square Fiskars ShapeTemplates. The stamps used are from SU that is now retired. The colors are much better in person.

Ruff Day

This card is 4.25" square instead of my usual A2 size card. The terrier is from the Cricut Just Because cartridge, the stamp is Inkadinkadoo (I think), and the "paw prints" border punch is from EK Success. I think I will be making more of these with both black and white terriers.

Monkey card

Another shaped card from Animal Kingdom and Design Studio. I think it would be better if the brown paper was a bit lighter, but it still turned out. It made a great birthday card for a very young nephew.

Frog card

This card was made for a little boy, of course! It is cut from the Cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge. I used Design Studio to make a shaped card. Wiggle eyes were added for dimension. A small Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the envelope flap.

Thank you card

A simple thank you card that I made for Winnie's occasional babysitter. When I have to be away from home for really long hours, we have a friend who enjoys her company and she stays with him. The lettering is from the Cricut Base Camp cartridge. The terrier is cut from Animal Kingdom. "Licks of Love" is a sticker. The background paper is DCWV Pet Stack.

"Winnie" book - Bad Hair Day

Okay, I am going to indulge in one more photo from my Winnie book. This is another favorite layout. The lettering is from the Cricut Printing Press cartridge. I just love the look of this lettering, and I think it really suits this layout.

"Winnie" book

A picture of the front of my Winnie book. The letters are cut with the Cricut Base Camp cartridge.

"Winnie" book

Meet Winnie, my Westie and faithful companion. She actually cooperated for this lovely picture of her by the daisies. It is my favorite picture of her. I made a "Winnie" book, which is a mini scrapbook with the letters of her name at the end of the pages. This layout is from that book. The lettering is from Printing Press, and the die cut daisy is from a punch.

Missed you card

This card is made with the same Happy Hopper stamp as the altered notebook. The lettering is from the Cricut Printing Press cartridge.

Altered notebooks

These are a couple of notebooks I altered. I just love the Happy Hopper stamps! The watermelon is cut from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge.

Butterfly - Thinking of you card

I made this card in the fall of 2008. It is a simple white card with embossing and a simple border punch detail at the bottom. The butteflies are rub ons that I purchased at Pat Catans.
