Happy Birthday - Masculine

My husband's birthday is tomorrow, so I just finished this card this evening, of course.  Why plan ahead?  lol  Anyway, the card was inspired by this card at split coast stampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2046542?&cat=500&ppuser=289521
The original is a halloween card, but I thought it would be great as a birthday card.  I made my stamped circle and shadow larger than the scale of the original to accommodate the stamp I was going to use.  Both circles were cut with my Cricut Expression.  The card base is kraft paper, and the two layers of printed paper are from last year's Indian Summer mat stack from DCWV.  The stamped cardstock is ivory.  The deer scene stamp is by Penny Black.  I also used a bit of ribbon, which is brown with a blue thread running through it.  It is a little hard to see the colors, which are much more vivid in real life.

Christmas 2011

Here is my first Christmas card for the year.  It is simply navy and white.  I cut a navy A2 size card base, and then another in white.  I used the large snowflake border punch from EK Success on each long side of the white and layered it over the navy card base.  I cut a strip of navy to cover the white center strip, and embossed it with a snowflake border embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  This doesn't show up well in the photo.  The center stamped image is a Penny Black "slapstick" stamp that I bought last year.  I used my Circle Scissor Pro to cut the white and navy circles.

Mother's Day

I just finished the Mother's Day card I am sending to my mom. It needs to go in the mail tomorrow! I used a Penny Black slapstick stamp "Flower Girl" for the image. I colored it using a combination of Prisma watercolor pencils and Bic Marks ALot markers. It is edged with a Martha Stewart PATP punch set. The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder that comes with the gratitude or thanks card combo. I thought its flowers looked similar to the sunflower the little girl is holding. I also used a red ribbon and bow at the top. Can you believe it? No die cuts were used on this card! I hope mom likes it!

Winter or Christmas card

This is the same layout as yesterday's post. The stamped image in the center is a Penny Black stamp. I think this is a fun stamped image.

Springtime card

This is another Penny Black stamp--Tulip Jungle. I colored this image with watercolor pencils, and Bic Mark It markers. The image circle and green scalloped circle were cut with Nestabilities, and the card and envelope were cut with the Wild Card cartridge. The pink card matches the image even though it looks off in the photo.

Penny Black Hedgie birthday card

I just love the Penny Black critter stamps! This one is from the acrylic valentine's set, and is colored with prisma watercolor pencils. The card is a 4.25" square, and the scalloped circle was cut with Nestabilities. I inked the edges of the scallop with a few of the pastel colors from the dotted background paper. The envie was cut from Wild Card on my cricut. A few pastel dew drops were added near the sentiment to compliment the dotted paper. My little niece loved this card--and the cash that was included inside! LOL

Bunny Get Well Card

This is a sweet little Penny Black stamp that I use for many occasions. The image was stamped onto a scalloped square cut from Storybook. The pink flower in the corner is cut from an EK Success daisy punch. I use this punch a lot! It's center is a pink dew drop, and clear dew drops are adhered to the corners of the white scalloped square. The stamp has also been used on the front of the envie. "Get well soon" has been cut from Calligraphy, and then stickled to make it stand out.

The second picture shows the inside of the card. It is stamped with SU's curvy verses and a couple more daisy punched flowers have been added.

Chickadee Card

I think this is a cheery little card. The chickadee stamp is by Penny Black, and has been colored in with prisma watercolor pencils. The "hello" was cut from Wild Card, and the die cut flower and leaf were cut with EK Success punches.

Christmas with Penny Black Hedgies

This card was done at the same time as the snowman border card. This stamp (Jingle all the Way) is by Penny Black, and it is a long border stamp. I used it last year to stamp Christmas gift boxes that were cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. Coloring is minimal with just a bit of red and green, and a bit of color for the hedgies to bring them to life. It was stamped with SU basic grey. The Martha Stewart snowflake border punch was used, and a shiny jingle bell was cut from Joys of the Season and a small green bow was added at the top of the bell. I think it is a nice, simple, happy little card. East to mass produce for your Christmas card list!

Merry Christmas!

This is a prototype of one of my Christmas cards this year. If you are on my Christmas card list, pretend you didn't see this!
This is called a tent topper card (I think), and it was fun to make. You basically make a 4.25" square card, embellish the front however you wish, and when you add the "topper"--you make sure that it does not extend beyond 5.5" so that your card will fit into an A2 size envelope.
The circles/scalloped circle were cut with Nestabilities on my cuttlebug. The navy front was Cuttlebug embossed with a Sizzix snowflake folder. The bunny stamp & sentiment are a "slapstick" set from Penny Black. The SU ticket punch was used on the corners of the navy cardstock, as well as on the sentiment piece.
Overall, this is a very easy card to make, and could be planned out to make a large quantity of them at a time. I am sure I will be making more of these type of cards. Hope you enjoyed looking at it!

Friends

I just love Penny Black stamps. This one is from the Valentines acrylic set. I added a bit of stickles to the flower.
The white lace doily shape is from Lacy Labels, the yellow piece is embossed with the Welcome Baby Cuttlebug card combo folder. The purple strip is punched with the EK Success Swiss Cheese border punch.

Cartridge Challenge for Autism

I joined a card challenge on the Cricut messageboard for Autism. The challenge was to make a project using a puzzle piece. I used a puzzle piece from Printing 101 and set up the cut file in Design Studio to get the opening on the front of the card.

I used the puzzle piece that was cut from the front to embellish the inside of the card. The stamps include Penny Black "Bees and Bunny" and SU! "Pocket Silhouettes." The small butterflies are hand punched.

The border on the white piece inside the card was done with a Martha Stewart punch around the page set "Loopy."

I added a bit of Stickles to the bees' wings and to the center of the daisy. "Bees and Bunny" images were colored with Prisma watercolor pencils.
